Bridge Art Showcase Deadline

Youth artists and designers, share your vision of Palo Alto

The City is hosting a global bridge design competition for a new Highway 101 Pedestrian/Bicycle Overcrossing. The bridge will represent the identity of Palo Alto and provide connectivity from south Palo Alto to the Baylands Nature Preserve and the regional Bay Trail network of bike trails.

To kick things off, the City is inviting young artists and designers to be a part of the process by creating drawings and/or models of a bridge that represents Palo Alto in their eyes.

  • The showcase is open to Palo Alto children and teenagers from kindergarten to high school.
  • All drawings/models will be displayed on the City’s website leading up to the competition
  • All youth participants will be recognized at a February City Council meeting and will receive a certificate of achievement.

Work can be dropped off at one of two locations:

  • City Hall, 7th floor, 250 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto – Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Road, Palo Alto – Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

All submission are due on or before Nov. 3, 2014.
