Application Deadline: January 12, 2015

Neighbors Abroad (www.neighborsabroad.org), Palo Alto’s sister city organization, has sponsored a student exchange with Oaxaca, Mexico, since 1965.  This is a wonderful opportunity for students from Palo Alto to live as a member of a Oaxacan family.  Students significantly improve their Spanish language skills, learn about another culture, build new friendships, and get to experience this beautiful and historic city.  Dates of the exchange:  In Oaxaca for 3-5 weeks, then in Palo Alto for 3-5 weeks.  Cost: Approximately $1,000 plus spending money (includes round-trip airfare and a prorated amount towards chaperone’s expenses).  Eligibility:  Applicants should be high school students at least 15 years old by June of 2015, who are studying Spanish at any level.  Get an application at the Family Information Meeting on Monday, November 24, 7:30pm, Cubberley Community Center, Room A-3, or by contacting Marion Mandell at marionb@sonic.net or 650.493.3798
